9:30 - 11:02 Kanazawa-Fukui JR Hokuriku platform no.3 pass 20 sta. ¥1,320
Get off at Maruoka, No one’s there to check my ticket. I can’t get a refund.
Took a taxi to Maruoka caste. No bus came, only 6 buses come in a day.
¥450 x2 = ¥900 for a couple who helped me take a taxi. Taxi cost ¥1,670 one way, from Maruoka sta. To Maruoka Castle. Bus terminal is near Sakai City hall. It’s far away from Maruoka train station.

12:15 took a bus from Maruoka Castle to Fukui sta. ¥640
12:55 arrived at Fukui sta.
13:05 store my luggage at Manten Hotel
Go to Information service in front of the station. The Bus to Echizen Ono had just left. I missed it.
14:05 from platform no.5 Fukui sta. To Echizen Ono 1 hour ride, ¥990、get off at Echizen Rokken 越前六間、walk 10 minutes to the castle.

Go back at 16:20 walk to the bus stop
16:34 ride the bus ¥990
17:34 arrive at Fukui sta.
Dinner and breakfast ¥340
Stayed at Fukui Manten Hotel Ekimae ¥7,900. Good, clean, quiet, no smell of smoke. Hot water quickly came out in the shower.

I can’t get a good shot, it was rainy due to Typhoon no.13.
10:30 - 12:30 Drive to Nagahama castle and Hikone Castle
12:30 - 13:00 look around the Nagahama
13:00 - 14:00 drive to Hikone Castle
15:00 - 16:00 look around Hikone
16:00 - 18:00 go back to Obama, fill up gasoline
17:30 Fill up the gasoline
Daihatsu Move is really fuel efficient. The trip spent about 170 kilometers, I filled 7 liters for the gasoline.

In Obama station, there were some strange people. For example, sleeping on the chair in the train waiting room, people talking loudly, a woman with deformed face, people looking and staring back at you. There is no restaurant nor convenience store near the station.

Friday 10 August
4:20 get up
5:43 - 8:05 train from Tsuruga to Kanazawa, 31 sta. Hokuriku honsen ¥2,270. No such price in the ticket machine so I bought ¥1,850. From Tsuruga to Minami Imajo the train will pass a very long tunnel and during that time, there will be no cellular signal. Paid the fare at the train office.

8:20 bus to KanazawaJo and Kenrokuen
Entrance Ticket for Kanazawa Turret and Kenrokuen ¥500. From Kenrokuen, take LL bus to Higashi Chaya District. I rode on a JR bus. It is NOT covered in the one day pass. A tourist who has a Japan Railpass can take the JR bus, but they can’t ride on the LL and RL buses. Tourist should buy a one day bus pass. LL means Left Loop and RL means Right Loop.

11:30 Higashi chaya 

From Higashi chaya, ride RL bus, get off at Hirokoji to see Nishi Chaya. From Nishi Chaya, I took a train back to Kanazawa sta. To my surprise, there are two different Hirokoji bus stops for Nishi Chaya district. 

14:00 Nishi Chaya 
There are two different bus stop for Hirokoji stop for Nishi Chaya. Nishi Chaya is only 200 meters long. You may skip this area.

15:00 - 15:40 late lunch at Ramen restaurant, at 100bangai, 3rd Floor. The taste was salty. They said it was hot, but it was salty. The noodles were a bit hard as if they are not well-cooked. 15 minutes after that I had a stomachache.
